LiveLink with Aximmetry DE

I have another question from our Japanese production staff, so I hope I understand the situation well enough to ask a coherent question!

So, apparently LiveLink will work directly in UE4, but when we open Aximmetry DE, it opens UE4 but LiveLink doesn't appear to work or is unavailable. Do you have any ideas about this...?

Thank you!

This is some follow-up information from our production staff regarding this issue:

Currently, we are experimenting with real-time motion capture using motive and motionbuilder.

The UE4 project itself is created exclusively in Aximmetry.

We can output motion data from motionbuilder to UE4 via Live Link, but when we start this project in Aximmetry, it seems that the source is not listed in the Live Link message bus.

If you have a solution to this problem, please let us know.

Hi,

LiveLink is working with Unreal for Aximmetry, but in the current version (2021.3.1) it doesn't work with a cooked scene. It will in the next version.

Please check:

Best Regards

Sort of a related question : has anyone tested Iclone live link plugin in Aximmetry ?

I got it to work in Unreal but not yet in Aximmetry, but if someone else has, then I try a full reinstall of both visual studio and Aximmetry to see if I can get it to work.

Unfortunately Iclone plugin was designed to work only in the editor. So while it works with Unreal editor for Aximmetry it will not work in cooked mode.

If you want to use it to stream animation then you can try to use the Motionbuilder plugin which we tested and works. However in the current build (2021.3.1) there is an issue with it so you have to wait for the next version or you can ask for a beta version. (sales@aximmetry.com, please indicate which new feature you would like to test)

Thanks for the feedback.

Are you saying that I could stream animation/mocap from iclone to mobu's livelink plugin in Aximmetry (if given the right IP address and everything?).

This is still R&D for me at this stage, I can wait for the next update.

On a side note, is there a list of plugins that you have tested and know to be working in Aximmetry (cooked or not) ?

Best,

Eric

Sorry I probably wrote ambiguously. To be able to use MotionBuilder's plugin to receive animation you have to use MotionBuilder to send the animation.

For animation streaming these should work in editor and in cooked mode:
MotionBuilder LiveLink
Rokoko Studio Live
MVN Live Link

And this one will work only in editor (or live sync mode)
iClone Unreal Live Link (because this is an editor only plugin)

There can be others that we didn't test.

HI! Im using version 4.27.1 of UE for aximmetry, for some reason Livelink does not show vive trackers or controllers, I thought i was doing something wrong but when I transform a working project from regular ue4 to ue4 aximmetry version they just wont appear. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Lotus,

OpenVR plugin is disabled in Unreal for Aximmetry, cause Aximmetry's OpenVR implementation and Unreal's can not run together...
We suggest mapping OpenVR in Aximmetry. Then using the Camera Tracking module, and sending the transformation tracking data from the module to Unreal. Like how Transformation are passed to Unreal here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-aximmetry-de-users/passing-transformation-from-the-unreal-scene/

Warmest regards,

Hi! I would like to know if the update for Neuron Live-link for Aximmetry cooked scene has been updated and is now available? Thanks!

Hi Cedricusmann,

Somebody recently posted a similar question, I answered it here:
