Hi I have tried to connect another pc (on there I run rekordbox) with aux to my aux port to my laptop where aximmetry is running. My probem is that it doesnt show any input in aximmetry but I can see the input in my audio settings of the laptop. Do anyone know why I dont get any input in aximmetry?

Thank you

Warmest regards

Hi Tornado,

If I remember correctly from our previous conversation, you connect the auxiliary cable directly to the motherboard and do not have a separate audio card on your computer.
Could you please provide a screenshot of how the audio settings are displayed on your laptop? Also, a screenshot of what audio inputs are available in Aximmetry? This could help us greatly in figuring out what might be the issue.

Warmest regards,

This was the post. I wanted to do what you said last.

Yes I have connected the aux cable directly in my laptop aux port.

I dont see any input from the aux cable or the other pc in my sound settings. Could it possibally be that my port in my laptop is only an output for headphones? If so do you have any other idea for a work around?

Hi,

It seems your laptop only has a dual-purpose port:
How to Connect Speakers or Headphones to a Dell Computer | Dell UK
This port is compatible with headsets that use the TRRS plug, which allows you to use both mic and headphones on a PC with one plug.
To input audio into this port, you would need a special cable that directs the audio into the microphone line of the TRRS plug.
Note that this setup may lead to reduced audio quality. Laptops typically treat this port as a microphone input, which is intended for signals much weaker than those from other audio devices. The microphone input may have a built-in pre-amplifier to boost these weaker signals to a usable level, with impedance set to match that of typical microphones, which is generally low. Also, TRRS inputs capture mono audio, meaning they record only one channel.

This is also generally true for a microphone port (pink) if your laptop has that instead of a dual-purpose port.

What you really want on your laptop is a Line-in (Blue) port. Like this:

Also, I suspect the "Line 1/2 (M-Audio M-Track 2X2M)" to be a USB connection from the device rather than a Line-in port on the laptop.
