[SOLVED] Major issues with new update - 2023.3.1

So I need to warn everyone who wants to install new 2023.3.1 update, cause it have major issues. Let's start with installation that is refusing install common library package. We need to install some old DirectX to properly install every package (like always we did it as clean install!).

Then we have issues camera UE compounds and lastly, almost half of our projects just dont work. Aximmetry will load project, show first frame of our virtual environment and then it will freeze for couple minutes and ProcessorLoad will still show that project is Loading.

Aximmetry will eat every byte of RAM and then it will crash with fatal error - RenderingThread.

[LogWindows] appError called: Fatal error: [File:E:\Build2\UnrealEngine\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\RenderingThread.cpp] [Line: 1272]

So please be aware! This one really needed some more time in the oven. Now I need to recook every project over weekend and roll back to older version of Aximmetry...

Try to run in LiveSync mode instead of Cooked mode, see whether can resolve?

I had the same issue today. I got it to install properly by right-clicking the Aximmetry installer .exe file and "Run as Administrator"

@marc.colemont - I've managed to install it, but there are still issues with RAM and with crash eg. fatal error - RenderingThread.

@Simon Cai - I can try this, but we need to fix it properly, not with LiveSync bypass. It will tank GPU even if we are using multiple RTX 4090.

@Simon Cai - So Live Sync mode solved issue, it´s not optimal for our workflow, but for now it´s better then reinstalling whole thing.

I noticed one thing during the error, and that is that Aximmetry wants to open the UE somewhere on the E: drive, but it is not on our computer. Maybe that's the problem? I noticed that this problem where it says E: drive has multiple users in other threads.

I'm also experiencing new issues with cameras warning me that they are out of sync. Before update everything worked fine. What the heck?

Hi,

We are preparing to release a patch for Aximmetry soon, which is aimed at resolving these issues. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation might have caused.

David, could you clarify how the installer was unable to install the common packages? Was your computer completely missing DirectX, or did it not have the correct version?

Warmest regards,

@Eifert@Aximmetry - Hi Eifert! Our computer was fresh install of Windows 11 Pro with all necessary things (Drivers, SW, etc.) like any previous broadcast machine. Older version of aximmetry installed perfectly fine, but this new one want install. I have found here some old post with DirectX "fix" and it did work. Even if DX installer said that we are having newest version of DX after that common package installed correctly.

Now we have found another issue with 2023.3.1 and it's really annoying (3 frames) jump after camera cut. It was fixed in previous version. It's not a black frame, but shadows and AO will "adjust" between those 3 frames. We have encountered this issue in past, but we solved it with delay and through collection pin that you advised me. But now after update it emerge once again.

Hi Eifert,

thanks, hope it will get fixed really soon. About that DirectX, before that we tried to do clean install of previous version and it worked fine. After that we did clean install of 2023.3.1 and it was stuck at common package. In older post here I have found that tip with DirectX. We tried it and even if installer said that we have currently newest version installed, after that we successfully installed 2023.3.1.

Same issues were on another two new broadcast machines that were up to date with Windows updates, drivers etc and full install of Win11Pro.

Now we have found new issue and it's delay between cut. AO and shadows will readjust for three fames (your fix earlier with collection pin on Camera Cut solved that issue in earlier version of aximmetry, but now it doesnt.). Also after update we are still warn that our cameras are out of sync, which before update worked perfectly fine.

Do you have any timeframe when you will release update? Thanks!

DirectX was installed, even installer said that we have newest version, but still it installed something that fixed common library error. But it's strange cause this issue was on another two broadcast machines that were freshly installed with Windows 11 Pro, all drivers etc were installed correctly, but without that old DirectX it was still giving me errors.

Hi David,

There was an issue with the forum where new posts were appearing at the top of the thread. This could explain why you may not have noticed your posts being registered. Fortunately, this issue was fixed a few hours ago, so you should now see all your posts at the bottom of the thread.

Regarding the next release of Aximmetry, I cannot provide an exact timeframe, but please rest assured that it will happen very soon.

Concerning DirectX, it seems you attempted to install Aximmetry package files manually rather than the installer installing them:

Did you encounter an error similar to this?: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/3313-install-fails-could-not-install-library
Could you please confirm which version of DirectX you ultimately installed, and which version was already present on your systems if you can?

If the Unreal Editor for Aximmetry indicates that cameras are out of sync even after updating them, it's crucial to ensure you have the appropriate common library version that matches your Aximmetry version. The library's root folder should be added at the top of the Project root folders list:

You can access the Project root folder settings at Edit -> Preferences -> General.

Regarding the issue of AO and shadows readjusting for three frames during a camera or path change, I recommend creating a new post about it. Note that our previous discussions were about tracked cameras that don't involve AO. However, if you are using a similar override for the Camera Cut value in the Virtual camera, the issue could be different, although it should not occur.

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert, I´ve installed all packages through main installer and there was an error. After that I´ve tried install them separately and it still gives me error. After DirectX install, it worked through main installer.
