Aximmetry eye camera tracking shakes

Hello,!

when I use the mobile app Aximmetry eye, the data connection is normal and the origin is also located, but I feel that the image sometimes shakes and drifts, especially when holding the phone. Is there any setting that can reduce the image shaking and drifting? Will the built-in anti-shake function of the phone camera have an impact?

Best wishes!

Hi,

Holding your phone in your hand will never result in a stable video, as your hand will shake inevitably. You can compensate for this by using a gimbal stabilizer, countless brands make them for phones.

If you are using the phone for more than a few minutes, then you should make sure that it doesn't overheat, more on that here.

You should make sure you set up the Tracking Delay in the camera compound. Make sure you have Timecode Sync turned on in the camera compound.

You could fix shaking when the phone is stationary with the Tracking Dejitter option, you can read more about it at the end of this thread.

A recorded video of the shaking and the name of the iPhone model you are using would help a lot in figuring out the exact source of the issue.

Warmest regards,

Hello, thank you for your reply. When I use this app, I use an iPhone 13 Pro. When I place the phone on a tripod, the image captured by the phone is stable, but when I place the phone on a  camera jib, the image captured by the phone appears to drift. When reading the instructions, it is written  that  In the case where Aximmetry Eye is used to provide both video input and camera tracking at the same time, in Aximmetry Composer the Tracking Delay value must be set to 0, and the Timecode Sync must be turned OnI would like to know if I need to set the tracking delay when the image drifts?Aximmetry eye camera tracking shakes

Please forgive me for not knowing how to send you a video. I can only show you the following screenshots from the video. As you can see, the position of the tripod marked in the image is constantly changing, and the tripod is constantly sliding in the video.Aximmetry eye camera tracking shakesAximmetry eye camera tracking shakes

Hi,

Sorry, I was wrong. You should leave the Tracking Delay on zero and turn on the Timecode Sync:

The fact that it is stable in a fixed position (tripod), but not when you move the phone, suggests that this is how accurate is the phone's tracking.
A phone's tracking will be far less accurate when moving the phone's position compared to professional tracking systems. This is because professional tracking systems usually have detectors that are in a fixed position, while the phone is constantly moving and doesn't receive any positional data from a fixed-position observer.
Some iPhones like yours may use the LiDAR in them that can improve position. However, for that to work well, I think the LiDAR might need to see distinct simple geometries and not just the flat floor.

You can use the following modules to record the video and tracking data in Aximmetry's Flow Editor.
You will need to set up the Video Input and Camera Tracking modules just as in the INPUT of tracked camera compounds. Use the Video Recorder module to start recording a video:

Warmest regards,
