Issue with virtual object aliment in Aximmetry Composer

Hello,

Hi,

I'm having trouble with lining up objects in Unreal Engine 5.

I made a 3D object in UE5 that's the same size as a real box I have. Everything looks good when I use the "Scene tab" in Composure to get the virtual object to match up with the real one. But when I move the camera about 5 meters away, the virtual object isn't lined up with the real one anymore.

Is this a problem with tracking, or am I doing something wrong when I try to line up the virtual and real objects? Any advice would be great.

Should the rotation of "Scene" be changed? Or hight of scene?

Thanks!

What tracking system are you using and is it properly calibrated?

Hello,

I'm using Antilatency,

The calibration process inside Aximmetry is not really documented on Aximmetry's Learning page, I Put the tracker on the floor in the center of the tracking area, then made the forward point(not clear how much forward I need to place it, so I placed it 1.5m from the center and the same thing for right point (also measured from center).

I’m not sure what you’re talking about? Here’s the documentation for camera calibration: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/preparation-of-the-production-environment-phase-i/tracking/camera-calibrator/

Im talking about Antilatency calibration(origin point/right point/front point).
Camera calibration is already done.

Hi,

If you did the tracking calibration in the Camera Calibrator, then you don't need to do this:

However, you might need to adjust the camera's height or origin if you restart Antilatency. You can read more about that and the origin here: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/3011-antilatency-tracking-data-offset-and-axi

Also, be careful to not move outside the tracking area (floor/ceiling) of Antilatency. Especially while you are doing the calibration.

Warmest regards,

Hey,

Ok understood about the calibration. After reading the forum post you sent, I have one more question. If I use delta cam transform do i need to adjust “studio” placement also with same values? And when exactly I should use delta cam transform ?

Hi,

You will have to adjust the studio placement if you set it up while you used an incorrect delta cam transform value.
Antilatency has now many different tracking systems that work differently. So I am not sure which one saves position from one session to the next and with what accuracy.
You should use the delta cam transform to set the camera height if it isn't correct after starting up Antilatency. And yes, you should also use it to
set the camera and studio to the same place as in the previous session if antilatency didn't save it. In this regard, you could use the origin settings which I kinda incorrectly said you don't need.

Warmest regards,
