Focus Pulling Prime Lenses? / Vanishing Viper?

Is there a way to pull focus with a tracked camera in aximmetry while using a vanishing viper focus encoder

I can manually change the focus when I switch over to "Manual Lens" but I'm not able to control the focus within the mapped camera calibration profile I made for the current lens I have

also curious as to how to add focus calibrations for non-PTZ cameras or Prime lenses

I want to pull focus on the camera in the real world and it change the focus in the Engine/Aximmetry

is this not possible? I'm also aware that this can be done without using aximmetry entirely if i just keep it all inside of unreal engine.

Hi,

If you want to use focus data coming from an encoder, you need to create a focus calibration with the Basic Calibrator: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/basic-lens-calibration-without-lens-distortion/#focus-encoder

If you use it for prime lenses, you only have to deal with the focus distance. In this case, zoom calibration is not needed.
If you already have a tracking calibration made with Aximmetry’s Camera Calibrator you can open it in Basic Calibrator and make focus distance calibrations with it. In this case, you don’t have to bother with zoom calibration because Camera Calibrator can calibrate zoom.

To add focus to the video in scenes rendered by Aximmetry, use the Depth of Field GW module:

In the case of Unreal, you don’t need any additional modules, just set the Zoom Device in the Inputs. However, you can find more information on focus with Unreal here:

Here is documentation on how to use Vanishing Point’s hardware:
