fragmentary camera movement

Hi everyone,

A few days ago I installed on my new computer (with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 video card), which according to what I understood should run the AXIMMETRY software perfectly,

And really when I first started the software it ran extremely smoothly, even when I ran the screen on 4K resolution,

Suddenly it changed, and the camera movement became choppy,

I checked if it affects the card in the "task manager", in "processes", and it's really not difficult for the card, it shows that the card is not doing something difficult for it.

What could be the problem and how can it be solved?

And considering the fact that a few days ago it worked great!

Many thanks to everyone who answers

Hi David,

Choppy movement can mean many things and can be caused by many things.
Can you describe your setup in a bit more detail?
For example, if you are using camera tracking, then it could be that the tracking device jitters or there is a low/wrong data rate set somewhere. But if you use virtual cameras, then there is no reason to talk about camera tracking.

If your choppy movement is caused by your GPU being overwhelmed, then you should see something like this in the ProcessorLoad panel:

In the above case, the GPU can only render at 43.9 FPS, even though I set a 60 Frame rate rendering in the Preferences.

Also, make sure you didn't set a too low rendering Frame rate. Or you set Interlaced when you don't use interlaced video. At Edit->Preferences:

If you have a video latency issue of which you get error messages. Then you could change the in-to-out latency:
https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/latency-and-delay-in-aximmetry/#in-to-out-latency

A video of the choppy movement could help a lot in finding out the source of the issue. You can easily record your whole monitor with Aximmetry while using Aximmetry. You just need to use these 2 modules in the Flow Editor:

Hi Eifert,

Thanks so much for your response

It's really strange because in AXIMMETRY it shows that the GPU is exerting hundreds of percent more than its power, which in the task manager, shows that it is using less than 3 percent, and it is not exerting at all.

These are the photos I took in the two options I chose, 4K and FHD..

What else do I need to upload so that you can direct me to the source of the problem?

Hi David,

It seems from the error log here:

That you have this problem: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/2272-axi-beta-for-ue5-performance-warning
Which is most likely also causing the increased load visible in the ProcessorLoad panel.

Please turn SM6 off in Unreal's Project Settings:
We are working on a fix for SM6 that will be available in the next version of Aximmetry.

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert,

Thanks so much for your response

I entered the software, and saw that the SM6 was not on,

It's probably something else.

I saw on the internet that there might be something that limits the work of the GPU, in such a way that it doesn't really use all its capabilities, maybe in the WINDOWS settings, because it's really a joke that in the task manager the card barely uses 3% of its power..

If it is possible to find a solution to why the software seems to be struggling and why in the task manager the card hardly shows that it is working.

The Task Manager doesn’t give an accurate picture of total GPU use. Use a proper GPU diagnostic tool to see what’s really happening.

Hi David,

I wouldn't recommend searching the problems outside of Unreal until the "[LogNaniteStreaming] PERFORMANCE WARNING" error is not fixed.

So if SM6 wasn't turned on, then please make sure that Use Io Store is turned on:

Also, you should remove any Nanite mesh and settings in your Unreal project. As Nanite doesn't fully work with Aximmetry and it has bad performance in Unreal 5.0: https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.1/en-US/nanite-virtualized-geometry-in-unreal-engine/

Hi Eifert,

Thanks so much for your response

I entered the software, and saw that the Use Io Store is turned on..

I do not know what to do,

I bought a very expensive computer for AXIMMETRY and I thought I would get a good result and I was very disappointed.

What should I do?

Hi David,

You should first try fixing the "[LogNaniteStreaming] PERFORMANCE WARNING" error.

You could also try turning off Use Io Store, maybe that helps.
Also, you should turn off Nanite in your Unreal Scene on your meshes: https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.1/en-US/nanite-virtualized-geometry-in-unreal-engine/

If you just using this scene to test Aximmetry and your new computer, then you should use a scene without Nanite.

Hi David,

Unreal Editor for Aximmetry has been upgraded to Unreal 5.1 in Aximmetry 2023.1.0:
https://aximmetry.com/learn/software-version-history/#%E2%96%BA-latest-2023-1-0

In the new version, your issue with the [LogNaniteStreaming] PERFORMANCE WARNING" error has most likely been fixed. If you are still experiencing this error after upgrading, please report it here.

Warmest regards,
