UE5 Beta: Can't import "City Sample" In Marketplace

Hello,

I would like to test the UE5 Beta with the "City Sample" in the Unreal Engine Marketplace.  Even though I have been able to import other UE5 native sets from the marketplace, this one breaks when attempting to import or cook in the Aximmetry UE5 Beta.

https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/city-sample

Since this is a free UE5 native project, I would like to use this as a test for the UE5 Beta of Aximmetry DE.

If anyone is able to get this to run in Aximmetry, let me know your steps.

Thank you!

Hi,

I couldn't find a way to open the City Sample example project.

Sadly, it comes with many plugins and it seems some of them don't include the source code.

Warmest regards,

Same here :-( but have a suggestion though..

What if we delete some certain areas from the project and try opening a reduced portion of the Map.?

Can you try this out @Eifert.?

Just FYI Sinemaya:

I tried this with the SMALL city MAP as well as the LARGE city MAP and both failed.   (I also tried it with the UE5 NON-Beta that was just released).   I am concerned it has to do with the plug-ins that are used that are not open source that won't recompile in the Aximmetry version of Unreal Editior 5.0.3

If there is a workaround,  please let me know.

Thank you!

Any plug-in that comes as standard with UE5 needs to be included with the Aximmetry UE5 build as well. Otherwise compatible is broken, which would be a huge issue. @Eifert, this is something you need to take a closer look at.

Hi TwentyStudios,

These are not plugins that come with the engine. These are plugins inside the project, and they are not even standalone plugins that you can download from elsewhere.

These are all the plugins in the project:

I don't know why they wanted these parts of the project to be in plugin format.

Warmest regards,

@Eifert: Ah, got it! I guess they’re using plug-ins as a substitute for the missing useable asset management. The plug-ins are basically a way to add assets and blueprints to a project without using their horrible Migrate procedure.

Hi,

Starting with Aximmetry version 2024.1.0, opening the City Sample project along with all its plugins is quite easy. You can even use it in cooked mode without any complications. For more information on this, visit this post: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/3620-aximmetry-unable-to-open-unreal-engine-c
