No SDI Output from BlackMagic Decklink

Hi,

We have installed Aximmetry Professional, and can see our SDI input, but the SDI output will not work, even after we have followed all of the tutorial and forum suggestions. We have tried both channel out and video out to the Decklink, and neither one works. We have updated all the BlackMagic drivers. We mapped everything to the right output location. When after assigning the video output to Decklink port, nothing happens.

We set the BlackMagic card up for 3 inputs and 1 output. The device on the video input module is assigned to BlackMagic Decklink Duo, but the signal is being passed to the wrong port on the DeckLink desktop app. As an example, the video input module is set to the BM DeckLink Duo (2) in Aximmetry, but when we open the BM Desktop video app, Decklink Duo (2) is set to SDI 3 (under connectors).  When we close Aximmetry, all of the ports get assigned correctly in BM Decklink Duo, Is there something we are missing in the setup? If not, is there a workaround or fix for this problem?

Thanks for your help.

After some investigation, here’s what we found:

Decklink DUO / Aximmetry

Decklink duo port 1 - Aximmetry input 4

Decklink duo port 2 - Aximmetry input 3 ? ( No input, No output)

Decklink duo port 3 - Aximmetry input 2

Decklink duo port 4 - Aximmetry ( set to output 1 )

in all other cases the BM DeckLink Duo works as expected. Tried the SDI inputs in Unreal, and they are mapped correctly.

Is there a fix for this? We’ve figured out the inverse array, but we still are missing input for one camera.

Hi,

In our Professional editions, the total number of used SDI / NDI I/O ports is restricted to four. That might have caused one input not showing up for example if you already have 3 SDI and one NDI.

Make sure the ports are arranged and mapped correctly in the Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup.
For example, you can access settings and connector mapping for each port by clicking here in Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup:

Note, for these changes to take effect in Aximmetry, you will have to restart Aximmetry.

DeckLink Duo 2 is used by quite many here on the forums, it will be interesting to know what's gone wrong in your case.

Warmest regards,

Hello,

For us, port 3 on the DeckLink has to be set to output. We’re using ports 1, 2, and 4 as inputs.  After much testing, this is the only configuration that worked for us.

We haven’t had any other problems with the DeckLink  for video, because we were using audio from another source. Now that we’re attempting to embed audio via SDI, it stutters badly.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Hello,

We have tried to replicate the issue with no success.

This is the process that we did and everything worked as intended:

1- we set the appropriate output format and connectors for the ports that we are going to use as outputs in the Desktop Video Setup app.

I recommend writing a note to keep track of the assigned ports and their respective connectors:

(1)->1

(2)->3

(3)->2

(4)->4

This way you can keep track of the right connectors to use and the appropriate ports to assign inside of Aximmetry.

2- In Aximmetry's startup configurator, assign the ports you want to use as outputs in this case I used (1) AND (3)

I added the Video Input and the Video Out module.

Make sure to turn off Into Preview to be able to send the output signal to the port, otherwise you will see it on the preview panel when it's on.

I used port 2 as an input.

and finally here is the log:

Best regards,

Hello,

@TRGStudio I answered the embedded sound issue in your other post.

You can find it here.

We are actually not getting SDI Blackmagic input in Aximmetry anymore. Was working earlier today before a Windows update.
Blackmagic MediaExpress shows the SDI video input without problem, but Aximmetry just shows "DEVICE NOT FOUND" on the billboard.

Blackmagic outputs are mapped and the same scene worked earlier today.

Any way to fix this? Machine uses latest Blackmagic Decklink software, but it worked with that version earlier today.

Hi Jim,

You could try reinstalling the Blackmagic driver (using their latest driver). It is very strange that a Windows update would affect this.

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert,

It worked again after the next reboot. It seems like sometimes Aximmetry does not see Blackmagic but other Blackmagic application do see the feed. It's ok for now. But maybe some rare issue happening to monitor.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for reporting it even if it happens rarely.

If this happens again, you could try to locate the Blackmagic device in the Windows Device Manager. If you don't find it in the list, you can try scanning for hardware changes:

This can help us determine the source of the problem.

Warmest regards,
