AXIMMETRY AND UNREAL ENGINE LENS FILE

Reading the news about aximmetry new version 2021.4.0 i can't understand if it is now possible to use UE4 Lens file to add lens distortion to the aximmetry tracked cam.

my guess is
1) create a LiveLink CameraRole virtual subject with no code specified in the blueprint (so it won't mess with aximmetry's tracking protocols)

2) add a LiveLink controller component to the aximmetry tracked camera actor specifing the previously created virtual subject as "subject representation"

3) add lens file to the LiveLink ComponentController so the trackedcam will now work with lens distortion provided directly from unreal

4)cook everything and enjoy VP

may this work or is there any other method to use unreal lens file?

Would also like to know If something has changed regarding Unreal's lens file! Before updating, I used a separate project to get the lens distortion values, and use Aximmetry's own camera calibrator to add lens distortion and etc... (I added everything except the nodal point offset, In which I couldn't find anything to add those values)

Hi,

You can find more information on what tiagosilvadiretor did here: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/1314-unreal-427-lens-calibration-for-aximmetr
It is a really good solution if you use that calibration data in Aximmetry itself, which makes everything much easier.

Warmest regards,
