Edit Mode Xbox Controller

I have successfully mapped the xbox controller to the free camera mode within Aximmetry using this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdY81vtZ2GY

My problem is I need to map the controller to edit mode, so that I can more easily edit A/B Keyframes.

Is this possible?

Hi,

Yes, but for that you have to go even deeper in the compound.

- Find INPUT %N=1  and enter it as well  (by either Unlinking or Editing In-Place)

- Find VCam_A-B_8_Core  and enter it as well

- Here you can find the two Camera Movers that are responsible for editing the A and B endpoints of CAM 1.

- Connect the Xbox controller to these:

You can read more about this setup here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/setting-up-inputs-outputs-for-virtual-production/external-controllers/using-xbox-game-controller-to-control-a-scene/#controlling-a-scene

Hi,

For a wireless Xbox controller, you will need a dongle to connect it to Windows. There is no specific controller that we can recommend, but the Xbox360 controller seems to be a common choice between Aximmetry users.

Also, since Aximmetry version 2021.3.2 you can connect sequencers directly to Virtual Cameras. This way, you can even record the controller's input into sequencers and use it in your virtual cameras:

For the de version tracking virtual camera, how to use the Xbox controller to move and select the basic position of the scene? We can only move and watch in the scene with Xbox, but we can't determine this position to the virtual camera as the origin after moving,

Hi Mailiang,

Do you mean that you can not set up the paths in edit mode using an Xbox controller? If so, use the Edit Camera Path and Camera & Render Setup control boards. You will need to press A, move the camera, then press B, then move the camera again, and then press the play icon (|>):

Also, are you using the VirtualCam_Unreal_A-B_Preview_3-Cam or other Unreal Virtual Camera compound?

Warmest regards,

@Eiffert: I am trying to use Xbox controller in 2024.3.0 Beta. I  connected Xbox controller  to Free Camera  in Flow  and that works well  for Free camera using Vcam. I also need A/B control for  setting  paths  with the Xbox controller.   I see you say in  a previous post to  connect that to the  Camera Mover A and B.   Do you mean connect another controller in addition to the one on the  Free Camera to the  Camera Mover A and B,  so we  end up with 2  controllers,  or do I need to remove the one on the Free  Camera.  I  have  one on Free Cam and one on the Camera Controllers A and B,  however only the  Free Cam  works. I have no  control of setting the  A/B  paths . I  removed the Free Cam  controller, but still no  control of A/B. Please advise.

@Eiffert: Xbox controller works well with Free Cam and A/B  paths  for VCAM.  How do I get it to work for TCAM

Hi Linford,

If you are using a Mixed camera, you can edit the tracked camera part just as the virtual camera.
You will find the tracked camera's Inputline compounds in the TrackedCam compound:
