I got two Machines:
Machine 1:
AMD 5900x
Nvidia RTX 3080
32GB Ram
All NVME/SSD Drives
Machine 2:
AMD 3900x
Nvidia RTX 2060
32GB Ram
All NVME/SSD Drives
When running my Virtual Studio the bigger Machine (Machine 1) uses around
40% GPU and 44% CPU.
Exactly the same Project with exactly the same Settings on Machine 2 uses
50% GPU and 50% CPU.
Project running in 30FPS.
Why is there just such a small difference?!? Is that okay?
Especially when it comes to GPU Performance?
Thanks!
Toby
Hi Jackie,
Modern GPUs vary their clock frequency depending on the load in order to optimize the energy consumption. If you have a scene with a low demand, the rendering can seem surprisingly slow, because the GPU downclocks itself.
If you want a real comparation go to Preferences / Rendering and set Frame rate to Unlimited. This will load your GPU at max (that is possible with your scene), and no downclocking will occur.
