Virtual Cam Settings?

Where can I play around with Virtual Camera settings? I am using Aximmetry DE, and building a virtual studio in Unreal Engine. In Unreal, I can see some camera settings in the camera viewport. For example focal length, Aperture etc. How can i change these settings? Or is the virtual camera stuck to one focal length?

Thanks

Hi,

When you're editing the A or B endpoint of a camera path you can use

  • Zoom - Space + Wheel  or  Space + Left Mouse
  • Focus - Alt + Space + Left Mouse

Please check this documentation on all the available camera controls:
https://aximmetry.com/wiki/index.php?title=Camera_Mover_Mouse_Control

Aperture is not exposed currently.

Hey Zoltan,

Thanks, good to know about focus and that aperture is not a possibility. Is it possible to change to focal length of the aximmetry camera? For example could I make it show as if it had a 50mm lens. If I select the camera inside aximmetry, it actually shows an aperture and focal length in the camera viewport. Is it possibly to play with those settings inside aximmetry, and have my output reflect that?

Thanks

Hi,

Changing the Zoom is equivalent of changing the focal length.
If your question is how to set an exact focal length numerically then you can use the FOV Calculator module:

Then setup these parameters:

Sensor Width must be the sensor width of your hypothetical camera.

Param is the Focal Length.

This way, of course, you can only set a fixed focal length and cannot control it with the mouse.

In order to control aperture from Aximmetry,  you have to add the appropriate node to our camera blueprint that sets the aperture then expose its parameter with a Get Aximmetry Scalar.

Hello! It's possible to have a different focal length for each virtual camera?
I need to have this setup:
Cam1: 24mm
Cam2: 50mm
Cam3: 85mm

Thanks in advance!

@xaviprz: Yes, of course. You can animate and change the zoom and focus just like you animate camera position.

Hi Kanglin,

I replied to your question in the separate thread: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/1783-how-to-rotate-the-camera-90-degrees

Warmest regards,
