Lighting intensity changing with distance DE UE 4.25.3

 

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue with DE whereby I have a billboard character on a stage lit with a spotlight just above the stage. This looks fine when the camera is close enough to the stage, but as I move away from the stage the billboard goes dark as if there is no longer any light being cast, although the stage is still visibly lit fine.

The examples are below:

As you can see the billboard lighting is fine, but when I move away from the stage this happens:

As you can see, the spotlight is still lighting the stage with the same intensity as the halo around the now dark billboard is visible.

OK, so seem to have figured something out. If I disable Lit on the billboard I end up with consistent brightness of the billboard across the scene, however, I am not sure that this is a solution?

Hi,

Camera position should not affect the lighting of the billboard even if Lit is on.

Can I ask you use the latest Aximmetry_VirtualCam blueprint in your scene?
Did you happen to switch you scene to DirectX12?

I checked the settings and it was correctly configured for DirectX11.

I am still getting the same issue if the billboard is set to lit. Disabling it is having no major consequences from what I can see, however.
