Hi sung9801,

You have multiple options to use shadows with Billboards.

1)
You use the physical shadows in the scene. Dial in the Shadow Zone and Threshold parameters of the KEYER Control Panel (found on the BILLBOARDS Control Boards) to edit the shadow’s characteristics.

With Shadow Zone you can set the area in the input video where you wish to preserve the shadows.
With Threshold, you can color correct the shadows you preserved (as long as Shadow Zone is set higher than 0).

You can read more about these parameters in our documentation:
https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/green-screen-production/keying/keying/#keying-with-shadows

2)
You key out the shadows by dialing in the Low Cut and (if needed) Threshold parameters.

With Threshold, you can broaden the range of the background color used for keying. This is useful if you have multiple shades of green you want to key out (such as the dark green shadows).

You can learn about these parameters and the whole keying setup here:
https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/green-screen-production/keying/keying/

After keying out the talent, turn On the Cast Shadows parameter of the Billboard. This way the Billboard will cast virtual shadows in the scene.

You can customize the virtual shadows with multiple parameters below Cast Shadows: Shadow Depth, Shadow Offset, Shadow Rotation.

3)
You modify your physical lighting setup so that there is minimal physical shadows present on your Billboard. This way you’ll be able to key out the talent (e.g. the tripod) more easily. Then you can set up the Billboard to cast virtual shadows in the scene.

In order to make the outline color of the keyed out talent match the lighting in your scene, you should use light wrapping.
Light wrapping blends the edges of the talent with the background plate, making it look more realistic.

You can find a LIGHT WRAP CAM-# Control Panel on the BILLBOARDS Control Board for each Camera where you can activate it and customize it with multiple parameters:

The most important values here are Depth and Strength.

Depth sets how far the light-wrap halo penetrates the keyed edge.
Strength sets the intensity of the light-wrap halo.
