Can subjects receive shadows if they go further back within the space?
I'm using a tracked cam billboard and it works fine if the subject's feet are at the bottom edge of the billboard but once he starts to move backward the shadow won't follow.

Hi, It won't follow since the system has no info on the actual 3D position of the talent. Using billboard is a trick for providing an approximate 3D information for the render system. But it naturally cannot adjust itself automatically when the talent is moving. The best thing you can do is to limit the motion range of the talent and setup an average Shadow Offset (on the BILLBOARD panel) that roughly works for all positions. You can also use a spot light that is directed in a way that do not produce a shadow for the feet themselves, just for the upper parts of the body.
