all virtual screen are ghosting after update

Hi all,

it seems that all my virtual screens broke (classical ghosting effect for medias) after updating from 2025.2.0 to 2025.3.0

Any idea what could have caused it?

Hi,

I don’t think anyone has reported this behavior with the Virtual Screen in version 2025.3.0.

You could try the following:

  • Disable Motion Blur.
  • Temporarily change the AA method to check whether it is causing the ghosting.
  • If you are using Lumen reflections, disable Screen Traces in the Post Process Volume.

Also, a video or at least a screenshot would help a lot in determining the source of the issue.

Hello, thanks for answering. So, it seems that changing the AA method then going back to FXAA fixed it... which I find weird... we will do some more tests, and will keep you up to date. Regards

Hi again,

so, i have no idea what happened but the issue is still here. To me, it might not be related to AA, as we only have the issue with SDI inputs, and no issue with media file input... Here is a recording of the issue  https://fromsmash.com/CaucS8yH6~-ct

Hi,

This is quite strange, as there are six vertical virtual video screens in your scene and none of them seem to have any ghosting issues. Are you sure the same method is being used for all of the virtual screens?

You should use the Aximmetry Virtual Screen Asset if you want to ensure minimal setup and avoid ghosting. You can read more about it here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/obtaining-graphics-and-virtual-assets/creating-content-in-ax-scene-editor/advanced-information-and-features/virtual-screens-in-unreal-from-aximmetry/#aximmetry-virtual-screen-asset

Hi Eifert,

funily, those vertical screens with no issues are the "custom handmade" by myself ones. And the others, ghosting ones, are aximmetry virtual screens. If i delete and recreate them, no issues, but they broke when we upgrade to latest version. Was wondering if you knew why

Hi,

So, do they work correctly now when you add them fresh?

If that is the case, then I assume the ones that were already part of the scene were either not updated or not updated properly. This can happen for various reasons, especially since those Aximmetry Virtual Screens underwent many changes between the two versions.

Yes, it works when deleting remaking them for scratch.

Thank you, have a nice day
