I am a trial user who just started get to know the software today.

The Startup config definitely have space for improvement. The UI design is still not intuitive enough to pickup right away. Strongly suggest reading the document to know how to proceed.

Correct me if I am wrong --- if you are a trial version beginner like me, major features are not available to understand the power of the Startup Config. I have been trying to play around with input/output in the Startup Config, but I think since I am using a trial version with no SDI licensed, it basically does nothing. So far, I tested the UE5, but I couldn't really tell the final output quality of Aximmetry with Lumen in HD from Composer.

Hi Rachel,

We are open to any suggestions. We understand that the startup screen can still seem overwhelming for new users.
Note that the new Startup Configuration window is a first step toward implementing new features that will simplify the setup process for each production type in future updates. Ideally, the Startup window will be the most complex part if you're new to Aximmetry and aiming for a quick setup.

While some features may not be visible for those with a Studio license, SDI is not among them. The list of available SDI inputs or outputs is dynamically generated. If you do not have a capture card that uses SDI, you won't see any SDI-related options on the startup configuration screen regardless of the Aximmetry version.
On the other hand, if you have a Broadcast license and operate in a large studio with many input and output options, the startup configuration screen can become more useful than it is for a Studio license user or a new user who doesn't plan to use live inputs or outputs yet.

Regarding UE5 and Lumen, many settings in Unreal can affect quality. Aximmetry will not alter these project or scene settings. However, Unreal Editor itself has its own quality settings that determine the quality of its preview window, which can only be set lower than what Aximmetry will use. Note also that if you reduce the Rendering's resolution (Frame Size) in Aximmetry to a size smaller than the preview window's size in Unreal Editor, the display quality will be lower in Aximmetry as it will render fewer pixels.

We have documentation on the new Startup Configuration window here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/starting-with-aximmetry/aximmetry-composer/startup-configuration/ , and a short video about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrVWqpRm6go

Warmest regards,

For me the starting screen commonly is bigger than my actual monitor size (which is 1920x1080) making me have to size it down. Furthermore I started having problems with my Aximmetry Eye camera tracking (it did not work at all)

Hi Rik,

The starting screen is likely larger than your monitor because your Windows scaling is set to something other than 100%:

We recommend using 100% scaling on all monitors, as other settings can lead to issues across various software applications.

Regarding Aximmetry Eye, it would be helpful if you could create a new post detailing your experiences with it. Additionally, you can find related documentation here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/starting-with-aximmetry/aximmetry-eye/what-is-aximmetry-eye-and-how-to-use-it/

Warmest regards,

Hey Eifert, thanks for you reply! Since I just transferred to the new version in Unreal it turned out to be an easy misconfiguration issue. Camera tracking is working again! And thanks for the window scaling tip!
