Hi,

Would you like the Matrix view of the PREVIEW MONITOR OUTPUT panel in Mixed camera compounds to display both tracked and virtual cameras (V Cam and T Cam)?

Currently, it can only show either the tracked cameras or the virtual cameras. We have plans to improve the preview functionalities, which will address this issue. However, if you'd like to achieve this setup before these improvements are released, I can guide you through the process. Please note that it might be challenging. If so, could you let me know if you're using the MixedCam_Unreal_3+3-Cam compound or the MixedCam_Unreal_8+8-Cam compound?

Warmest regards,

Yes that's it. I'm using the 3+3 but honestly I have already enough challenges on the studio right now :)

But how do your customer work when they make a live multicam switching ? To merge both type of cameras is quite important for the director to have everything on a same screen

Hi,

At the high end, people use an Aximmetry multi-machine setup, where directors usually use an external switcher or Aximmetry's switcher compound to display everything together. The Preview Monitor Output panel will always have some limitations or drawbacks compared to that. However, as I mentioned before, we have plans to improve preview functionalities.

Additionally, if you are using Unreal, note that the matrix view can only display the rendered Unreal graphics from the perspective of the currently active camera. The other cameras will only display the billboard. There are limitations in Unreal and performance that would make rendering from multiple perspectives on the same computer unfeasible.

Warmest regards,

Yes I think it can still be useful. In my case I have a podcast studio, with 3 close shots on the 3 speakers, and 1 large shot on a jib. Actually only the last one has to be tracked, but obviously to make proper direction the 4 should be on the same multiview (even if there are not all composited)
