Is "by hand" the only way to move virtual cameras in 3d space?

Hello,

we are struggling to place cameras in virtualcam_unreal_3-cam compound because it seems like the only way to move those camera is by hand. I cant find a place to manually insert transform coordinates.

Looking in the compound there is a seq cam transf 1, 2 and 3 in the pin value but it does nothing. Sorry but I don't understand how this work.

Can you help?

Thank you

Hi,

You can manually set camera positions using the Default Cam Pos pin:

When you reset the position, it will reset to that Default Cam Pos value:

If you're working with Unreal, consider using the
[Common_Studio]:Compounds\Tools\Unreal_Transformation.xcomp compound.
This tool allows you to easily copy transform coordinates from Unreal into Aximmetry:

The Seq pins are typically used with the Sequencer module. To set up a system with multiple Seqeunced camera paths, you can use a premade compound called Camera Sequencer. More information and guidance on setting this up can be found at: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/green-screen-production/virtual-camera-workflow/camera-sequencer/

Thank you Eifert. I'll try this.

It is not clear to me if the Default Camera Position work with 3 camera or is just for 1 camera setup.

Thanks.

Hi,

The Default Camera Position is applied to all three cameras.

You can even reset the Free Cam to that default position using the Reset Free Cam trigger. Additionally, you can use the Capture Default trigger to set the current position of the Free Cam as the new Default Camera Position:

Hi Eifert,

What about for TrackedCam compound, are we able to manually set the virtual camera position of tracked camera?

Hi,

In tracked camera compounds, you set all tracked cameras' positions using the SCENE panel’s Base Cam Transf parameter.
If you have tracked cameras using different tracking systems, and they are located in different places, you can correct this using the ORIGIN panel’s Delta Cam Transf. More details about these settings can be found here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/tracking/advanced-information-and-features/camera-and-head-transformations/

If you are referring to virtual paths in tracked camera compounds, you currently set virtual camera paths relative to the tracked camera’s current position. This is why there is no default position pin for it. (In future versions, there will be an option to set an absolute position, not just a relative one.)

In the new Aximmetry version 2025.2.0 BETA, you can easily move all your tracked cameras to a new location using the Put Scene At Free Cam option in the SCENE panel:

There are also several new relevant settings for the Free Cam in the CAMERA MODE panel:
