How to transmit data /FizTrack

I have a wireless receiver motor,  I use it to change the focus of the camera. I want to know how to transmit  the  focus data to AXIMMETRY and use it in the Virtual scene.

I already have one FIZTRACK of htc on zoom, can I use them together?  if it is available ,then how can I do that?THX

Hi,

If you are using Vive Mars, it can directly receive FIZTrack data and transmit it to Aximmetry along with the tracking data, requiring no additional setup in Aximmetry.

If it is not connected to Vive Mars, we use the term Zoom Encoders in Aximmetry to refer to wireless receiver motors that track zoom or focus.
You can add it by navigating to Edit > Manage Devices under Zoom Encoder:

After adding the device in the Manage Devices section, you can utilize it with tracked camera compounds by specifying it as a Zoom Device:
How to transmit data /FizTrack

Note that both zoom and focus need to be tracked using the same solution in order to receive them as a single input in the Zoom Encoder within Aximmetry.

Warmest regards,

Hi,

I have no idea which one to choose here

How to transmit data /FizTrack

I'm currently using this one.

Should I plug it into the computer via USB port? Then how should I set it up?

Hi,

If you have the VIVE Mars FIZTrack, it is compatible only with Vive Mars, as stated here: https://myshop.vive.com/vive_eu/1920607.html

To connect it, you'll need to attach it to the Vive Mars Rover's USB ports:

Next, add Vive Mars in Aximmetry according to the instructions provided here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/tracking/setting-up-specific-tracking-systems/htc-vive-mars-setup/#fiztrack-lens-encoder

You won’t need to add it as a Zoom Encoder in Aximmetry, as I mentioned in my previous post. In hindsight, I think FIZTrack does not have a product that can work without Vive Mars and send data to a computer.

Warmest regards,

Hi

Let me make it clear about this.

1. I have one FIZTrack that have already connected to Vive Mars and I use it to control the camera's zoom, It can work directly in Aximmetry

2.Now I have another  wireless receiver motor as the picture I post before ,I want to use it into my workflow, in order to change the camera's focus and transfer the focus data  to Aximmetry .

Should I connect wireless receiver motor to my computer or Vive Mars?if need to connect it to my pc and how can I make it work .THX

Hi,

You need to connect the focus to the Vive Mars Rover's USB port as well. In the picture from my previous post, you can see that only the focus is actually connected, while the USB port for Zoom is empty.

Hi

I  connected wireless receiver motor to the Vive Mars Rover's USB portbut it only works on the camera, the focus parameters in the virtual scene are unchanged.

Hi,

You need to calibrate the focus with the Basic Calibrator: https://aximmetry.com/learn/unlisted/for-users/basic-lens-calibration-without-lens-distortion/#focus-encoder

Note that the Basic Calibrator can use calibration files you created with the Camera Calibrator. So, you only need to do the focus calibration in the Basic Calibrator.

Note that while you haven't performed the focus calibration, the Camera Tracking module inside Aximmetry's Flow Editor can still display the raw, uncalibrated data. This can be a useful way to verify if you are receiving focus values: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/tracking/how-to-set-up-tracking-systems-in-aximmetry/#lens-encoders

Warmest regards,
