4090 Crashes UE while 3090 does not

Hi all

Our 4090 started crashing the system when we run anything Unreal related on it. It is not Aximmetry specific. It is just that we open a project in Unreal or Aximmetry and after a couple of minutes we get a black screen and the computer starts to reboot. No warning messages or anything. We changed 4090 to 3090 and it works just perfect but it's performance is not sufficient for us.

We tried different drivers (studio\game ready), updated bios, checked RAM, nothing helps. I thought maby some of you came across this kind of problem and happen to know what can be done about it.

 Unreal for Aximmetry 2024.1.0

We thouhgt that it was Lumen related problem but the GPU crashes even when Screen Space is in use.
We've ben using this 4090 for almost a year with no issues.

Hi,

We haven't encountered an issue like this with the recent video card series. Note that it might not even be related to your video card. For instance, your computer's power supply unit (PSU) might be faulty and unable to handle the high power load.
Given the instant crash and reboot, I would suspect a hardware issue rather than a driver or software issue.

Warmest regards,

We´ve had similiar issue and it was faulty power cable to gpu. PC will max out fans, then black screen and after that reboot. It was pain in the butt to solve it.

Thanks a lot for your input. We'll check the power supply.

What processor are you using? there seems to be a fault on the newer 14th generation chips, like the 14900 models.

Thanks for your help, everyone. Turned out that Palit 4090 GPUs have a flaw with power supply connector. It becomes loose with time, then it starts overheating and the GPU struggles to draw enough power. Had to send it for repair. The connector was changed to a new one and everything works as it should. So, keep an eye on those connectors. Cheers.
