Tracking Zoom Isn't working

Hey Aximmetry Community,

We are working with a Panasonic AWUE150 Remote Camera to test our tracking fuctions. the Camera and Aximmetry are comunicating via Free-D. Pan/tilt is working but the Zoom Function is not transfered to Aximmetry. Does anyone know how to fix this? do we need to make several settings in Aximmetry?

Thanks

Andreas

Hello,

please follow along with this guide about PTZ camera setup and calibration.

The tool Andreas was talking about is the Camera Calibration tool that we recently released. You can check it out here.

Best regards,

Hi! I have the same problem here with ptz Canon cr-n500. In the basic camera calibrator it works perfectly. I  have created the profile with 5 zoom calibration points.

Problem happens in composer, in device mapper i have created Free-D camera tracker and a Free-D zoom encoder. Both with same port and ID. Then I have selected the same mode-profile for both devices. Then Pan and tilt works. But zoom doesn’t do anything.

any thoughs?

Should be something Im missing somewhere as in the calibrator works.

Thank you!

Hello,

you are not using a standalone zoom encoder that is independent of the camera tracking system. You are using a PTZ camera so the zoom data is sent along the tracking data, that is why you only need to specify the device representing them in the Tracking Device property.

The Zoom device property should be blank in this case.

The Zoom Device field is there for cases when your tracking solution doesn't handle zoom and you use a separate solution to send the Zoom data.

You could add a Camera Tracking module to the Flow just to check if you are receiving zoom through your tracking solution. In the Camera Tracking module set the Device value to your tracking solution and then check if the Zoom Factor changes when you use the zoom on your camera:

Best regards,
