Pc recommendation

Hi, right now I have a Razer Blade 14 with this specs:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics           3.30 GHz

Ram: 16 GB

Windows 11

I have seen that sometimes I get a Gpu and Cpu load of 2000% when I play several triggers and sequences and it also is laggy because the fps drop to 3,4.

I am doing a dj set in the virtual scene and for that I have several lighting sequences and triggers for fire for example.

Can you recomend me better laptops or specs for a laptop that is better for my production?

A laptop isn’t really recommended for Aximmetry since it needs a powerful GPU. A high end gaming desktop computer with a Nvidia 4090 GPU is the best option. Note that the new 5090 GPU is expected to be released early 2025. AMD Radeon GPUs aren’t recommended in any way.

Hi,

Even if you find a laptop that meets your production's rendering needs, we strongly advise against using it for production. Laptops tend to throttle performance once they overheat, usually within 10-20 minutes and even with external cooling pads. This means you can not really know your laptop's performance limits, making it difficult to design your project effectively.

Warmest regards,

Okay thank you for the response. Do you have spec recommendations for a pc then?

Hi Tornado,

In the case of hardware for DE, you can find recommendations here: https://aximmetry.com/aximmetry-de

We also have a document focused primarily on server-grade hardware, which are recommended for productions that require high reliability.: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/supported-hardware/pc/system-requirements-for-workstations/

Note, Unreal also has a similar page with an exact build here: https://dev.epicgames.com/documentation/en-us/unreal-engine/hardware-and-software-specifications-for-unreal-engine#performancenotes

Also, https://www.userbenchmark.com/ is a very helpful site for comparing the performance of different computer hardware.

Warmest regards,
