Unreal Engine for Aximmetry crashing on opening

Hiya, I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue but we're increasingly having an issue (on multiple machines) where we can't open any Unreal engine for Aximmetry projects. The project will load as normal but just close before getting to the editor window.

Sometimes it will load and then is fine from there on out but at this point I can't open anything on our studio machine, even a blank project.

We've not been able to diagnose this and it's been across multiple recent versions. Is there something we could be overlooking?

Hi,

Do you mean that the Unreal Editor for Aximmetry closes unexpectedly, or does the cooked project crash in Aximmetry Composer? If the Unreal Editor for Aximmetry crashes, you should locate the session log in the Unreal project's \Saved\Logs folder. The log likely contains information on why the Unreal Editor crashed before fully starting up.
You could copy and paste the error in the log here, or even provide the full log, then we can likely determine what is causing the issue.

If you meant multiple machines in a multi-machine configuration, then there has been an update that is related to this in Aximmetry version 2024.2.0, namely:
Fixed occasional losing connection to the remote renderer in multi-machine when a large Unreal project was being loaded or unloaded.

Warmest regards,

No this is simply the editor crashing on startup, regardless if Aximmetry is open or not, we don't tend to use cooked mode.

I've made some progress since yesterday. I deleted any temp files and ini files as well as re-installing UE and drivers. It seems a little more stable now but it still crashes when opening some levels.

I'll explore more and take a look at the logs. ChatGPT has been quite helpful in debugging.

Hi Cookseyyyyy,

Did you manage to figure out what is going wrong? If not, is there any way I can help?

And yes, ChatGPT can provide quite good tips. Additionally, searching the Unreal forum is a good tool too: https://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:https://forums.unrealengine.com/

Warmest regards,
