Windows update causing Unreal for Aximmetry 5.3.2 problem

Our customer's workstation just went through a routine Windows 11 update recently and right after the update, the Unreal for Aximmetry 5.3.2 can no longer cook the scene, it always ended with "Cooking failed" message.

Has anyone encoutered such situation? Is it possible for a windows update affects the Visual Studio component to cause such issue?

Hi,

It is unlikely that a Windows 11 update would affect the cooking process.
Typically, when you see the "Cooking failed" message, there are one or more error messages a few lines earlier in the Output Log. These errors are often the reason for the failed cooking. If you could copy and paste those specific error messages here, or even provide the full log, we can likely determine what is causing the issue.

Also, since Unreal 5.4 (Aximmetry 2024.3.0) you need to install MSVC v143 - VS 2022 C++ x64/x86 build tools (v14.38-17.8) with the Visual Studio. More on that here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/starting-with-aximmetry/how-to-install-aximmetry/#aximmetry-de

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert,

We just found out the windows 11 update has altered Visual Studio SDK and caused the issue, it now runs alright after reinstalling the SDK. Thank you.
