Hello!
Currently I am working with a HTC Mars system to track our camera in Aximmetry. I stumbled upon a problem and I am not sure how to fix it yet.
I am trying to get a zoom lens calibrated with the camera calibration tool and the use of the FIZ-track encoders of the HTC Vive Mars. However, I can't find a quick way to add focus data to my lens calibration.
As far as I know for now, the camera calibrator does not support focus calibration.
I resorted to the basic calibrator to crunch in the data manually, but since I can't duplicate the calibration data that I got out of the camera calibrator, the values are slightly different. Which result in a bad calibration.
Now my question is, what is the proper workflow to get a lot of different focus points in my lens calibration without losing too much time?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Both the Camera Calibrator and Basic Calibrator use the same format to save calibrations. The calibration is actually saved as an XML file, which can be opened with any text editor software. By doing so, you can easily copy the focus calibration from one calibration file to another.Note that in the Camera Calibrator, you have the option to export or import the calibration to any folder of your choosing.
If you are seeking a faster method for focus calibration, beyond observing the focus of the video input and entering it manually in the Basic Calibrator, there is currently no quicker option available. However, we have received requests for automatic focus calibration and we are considering adding this feature in future releases.
Warmest regards,
