Aximmetry DMX with pioneer dj

Hello, my plan is to do a virtual event in an unreal engine world with aximmetry. My question now is if it is possible to use the dmx integration in pioneer dj in aximmetry?

Basically if I play a song on my dj controller the lights in the unreal engine world are synced to the track that’s played.

Normally I do a track in the sequencer and do the lights to it. Now I want to connect pioneer dj software or a pioneer controller to start the track (and other tracks) synced to the lights, fireworks, smoke,… .

Yes, you can control Aximmetry via DMX and also control DMX equipment from Aximmetry. You could also use the built-in DMX support in UE5.

Thank you for the help so far.

To program the lights in the rekordbox software I have to add the lighting, fire, pyro,… . How can get the lights… from the unreal projects in the rekorvox software that I can program the show?

Also is there anyone I can contact to get deeper help?

How do you mean “get the lights?” There’s no automated way of doing that, as far as I’m aware. You need to define the lights in your software with matching DMX channels in the UE5 scene. Unreal won’t send anything to your software.

In the rekordbox software I can programm the show to the track that is played. So how do I get the dmx signal from all the lights, pyros,… from my unreal scene to the rekordbox software? Basically how can I find the dmx signal from the unreal project in the rekorbox software that I can programm the show in rekorbox? Afterwards I want to take me in the unreal project with aximmetry and do a dj set and the dmx (lights,…) should go how I programmed it in the rekorbox software.

Hi Tornado,

DMX is a one-way communication protocol. In this case, the DMX signal will go from Rekordbox to Unreal Engine's DMX lights. Therefore, you will need to set up the target address in Rekordbox. At the lowest level, the DMX address comprises channels ranging from 0 to 512. Typically, each DMX light uses one or several channels from the 512. Once you add the DMX lights in Unreal, you can probably get or specify their channels from their Actors in Unreal. Then, you need to specify these channels in Rekordbox, similar to the process shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6086IorvHfA

Warmest regards,
