post process effects on video stream possible?

im looking at jumping back into unreal / axim again for the first time in a while, I want to create a level that has a lofi retro playstation look using a post processing effect similar to this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKXXF5FKa5k&list=PLVlmbB0R21S3HPymYfArgJjEV4P3kTRRy&ab_channel=Marcis

Just wondering do i have to do anything specific to get this type of effect to also effect the video input inside aximmetry or will it just work straight away if the entire scene is using this PP effect??

That depends. Many of these post processing effects relies on having the base geometry to apply the effect convincingly. The video input is just a flat plane without any actual geometry, so it might not behave the way you’d expect it. Other effects should just work. Why not try and report back with the results?

Hi,

I think some of these effects may have been achieved through custom materials and not solely by post-processing.

Note that you have easy access to the material used by Aximmetry's billboard, which allows you to change it to something that better fits the retro effect you're aiming for. You can find the billboard at 'Camera's Name'\Materials\Shaders\Billboard.

Be aware that such changes can break some features in Aximmetry, like the reduced anti-aliasing on billboards, but since you are going for a highly customized look, you probably won’t need those features.

Warmest regards,
