Feature request: Module Reference Copy

Hi!

I would like to suggest a feature which I absolutely love in offline compositing packages like Nuke and Fusion: creating a reference copy of a module/node.

This allows you to copy a node which is linked to all the parameters of the original one, allowing you to easily apply the same adjustments on a different flow.

Hotkey example: Ctrl+C to copy a node as you would normally do, and then use Ctrl+Shift+V to create a reference copy, the node could have a specific color or tag that clearly shows its a reference.

Please excuse me if anything similar already exists within Aximmetry, then I would love to know how.

Thanks in advance lovely Aximmetry Team!

Hi Niels,

Linked compounds have similar functionality. You can read about them here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/preparation-of-the-production-environment-phase-i/scripting-in-aximmetry/flow-editor/compound/#linked-compound

Note, that all camera compounds operate this way, which is how your project's camera compound gets updated with each new version.

Warmest regards,

@Linked compounds doesn’t really do what he’s asking for. I think it’s an excellent idea to have reference copies of nodes that always mirror the parameters of the master node in realtime. You could set something like that up using control boards and tunnels, but the pure “reference copy” approach seems like a clear workflow improvement in many use cases. Please consider this.

Hi,

Also, the Set ... Pin modules have similar functionality.
Nevertheless, we added it to our request list and we will consider adding it in future releases.

Warmest regards,
