Calibrator's different values each tracking calibration MO-SYS

Hi, apparently when we calibrate our mo-sys tracking system using Aximmetry Calibrator it's always bringing in values that really differs from each other, even though the overall tracking quality seems OK. I'm interested what cause the values being different from each other after each tracking calibration. Thank you for your attention.

Hi,

There can be several reasons why some values differ. For instance, the MO-SYS tracker might not be fixed securely enough, causing it to move slightly between calibrations compared to the camera. If you could specify which values are different, it would help us better understand the possible causes in your case.
Note that the calibration files are saved in XML format. You can open these files with any text editing software and paste their contents here for further analysis.

Warmest regards,

MO-SYS has its own calibration system, so you could use that instead of the Aximmetry Calibrator. I’ve noticed irregular results with the Aximmetry camera calibrator myself. Hopefully they can improve it to be more robust. As it is it’s kind of hit and miss.

Hi,

As TwentyStudios mentioned, using the tracking system's own calibration tools may yield more consistent results. Note that Aximmetry's Camera Calibrator is designed to be versatile, it aims to support a wide range of tracking systems, from the least sophisticated PTZ setups to complex cable tracks in large stadiums and varying environments.
Therefore, there are ways to inadvertently miscalibrate using the Camera Calibrator, and the software may not always detect the source of these errors. This is why you must follow closely the Calibrator's instructions.

Warmest regards,
