I think that free camera mode have different pivot point than aximmtery unreal camera one so you need to fix your default free camera position.

maybe aximmetry add a solution for this problem so free camera default transformation  match unreal camera position

Agreed! Aximmetry, please fix this. It’s always a hassle trying to find your scene floating around in the vastness of space ;-) Also, it appears to be a huge stumbling block for new users.

Unfortunately there is no easy solution for that since the VirtualCam compound is completely independent from the Unreal scene. However we noted the request, thank you for suggesting.

It seems to me that the default camera position doesn’t match the default scene position in UE4, and that why we always end up outside the scene? Maybe you could just change the default value t something that matches the standard position in UE4? I’m the future, something like a Bookmark feature would be nice, to allow quickly jumping between different locations in the UE4 scene.

If your Unreal scene is constructed a way that the main "stage" is near the origin of the world then you should not bump into this problem  (or if you do then you can simple reset the camera position in Aximmetry to get back to origin).

Thanks for your suggestion, we'll consider it.

The problem is that none of the scenes bought in the UE4 market place or the example material from Epic starts near the same origin. The seem to all have a different (maybe common) origin.

Hi, I am really following this tutorial exactly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzkyS0Uwvqo

but I start off very far in space. When I zoom in Free Mode (spacebar + scroll) it looks nothing like in the tutorial. I also get that "ghost image".

Please help, I am stuck - thank you!

*** Update ***

1) Just reset Free Mode camera using key "d"

2) Use camrea naviation at https://aximmetry.com/wiki/index.php?title=Camera_Mover_Mouse_Control to position scene

>>>

I have also followed each of these and get exactly the same problem:

https://aximmetry.com/wiki/index.php?title=Getting_started_with_the_Unreal_Engine_based_DE_edition

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzkyS0Uwvqo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXLK8fDFxmw

Maybe a UE setting needs to be changed?

Hi all,

We apologize for this, seemingly the default positon of the Free Camera is very far from the center. It will be fixed in the next version.

However in the mean time you can easily fix this by using the "Reset Free Camera" operation,  either by finding this button on the red CAMERA & RENDER SETUP panel, or using the d shortcut mentioned by Jaymin (thank you!).
