How can I set the Digital Extension Delay ?

Hello,

Now, I am using Aximmetry_Broadcast_DE_2023.2.2 build 25803 for test the LED VP in our studio.

I think the LED VP is work well.

But when I use Digital Extension I have an delay problem.

You know the video input form the camera have same latency. So I try to set the Digital Extension delay for make the rendered at the same time with video input.

I saw it that there is a Digital Extension delay can be set at the old version.

So, can you tell me how can set the Digital Extension delay at the new version.

Please help me.

Best regards.

Hi,

The delay settings for the LED Wall have been reworked before that version of Aximmetry. There is no longer a Digital Extension delay, instead, you have to set the Picture Delay. This new method is detailed in the Switching Between Cameras section of the documentation.

Additionally, you should also set the Tracking Delay.

Warmest regards,

Hello Eifert.

Thank you very much for your reply.

And, I have tested the Picture Delay.

I test the delay between Camera and Digital Extension by play images sequence in UE.

I set a trigger to play UE images sequence from Aximmetry.

I set the frame delay between Camera and Digital Extension like the image I sent to you.

When I set the Picture Delay, the delay can not be fixed.

So, I should set anything else? How can I set the Digital Extension Delay ?

Please help me.

Thank you.

Best regards.

Hi,

Are you operating on a single machine? If that's the case, there's no need to set anything else. Simply increasing the Picture Delay by 6 should align your frame counters (3089+6=3095), as illustrated in the diagram:

Note that the highest value among all Picture Delay settings is the one that affects the delay for the Digital Extension.

If adjusting the Picture Delay does not change the discrepancies in the frame counter between your Digital Extension and the LED Wall, there might be some incorrect settings in your Control Boards. In such a situation, starting with a fresh compound to reset your settings could be beneficial.

Warmest regards,

Hello Eifert,

Thank you for checking my question.

I use multi-machine. One PC for LED rendering. And One PC for XR.

I will check the XR Delay again at next week.

I will reply you soon.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Hi,

If by XR you're referring to a setup where the controller computer renders exclusively for the Digital Extension, then it is expected that adjusting the Picture Delay does not alter the frame counter.

In such instances, it's necessary to utilize the Animation Delay to adjust your frame counter. More details can be found here.
This is because, in this scenario, the controller computer re-renders the scene for the Digital Extension using the most recent tracking data, rather than simply delaying the rendered picture.

Warmest regards,
