Hey, I wanted to share a small fix for something that's been plaguing me a while. Hopefully it helps others in a similar situation. My audio input would crackle throughout the recording, and when I look at the sample rate, it was always flashing between 2 numbers which I thought was weird... as if the sample rate was uneven. Here's what I did to fix it.
1 -- changing the video input preferences "extra input delay" from the default 0.2 frames, to a whole number. Apparently the reason the sample rate couldn't decide what it was, is because the input was being delayed by a fraction of a frame which screwed up the internal timing I think? After this little fix, it went from a sample rate between 1920/960, to flicking between samples of 1601/1602 samples...
After a lot of troubleshooting I found out that if2 -- I changed my 'rendering' preferences from a frame rate of 29.97FPS to a whole number, like 30FPS, or 25FPS, the audio input resolved to a stable sample rate of 1600 even.
My audio input recordings have significantly improved after this. Weird that aximmetry's video FPS settings would effect the audio, but I guess it does! Hopefully it helps some of you!
Hi all,
Maybe a bit different but I just wanted to let you all know I experienced for months a crackling noise with the output module connected to the USB interface of a Behringer model X32 Audio Mixing Console. It strangely only appeared at higher output levels (at approx 70%, so without hitting 0dB). So I thought initially thougt I had a volume too high. After a lot of searching it appeared to be that the X32 setting of a sample rate of 44.1kHz (instead of 48kHz) fixed the issue. After changing this setting the noise was completely gone, also at the highest volumes. So check for the correct setting when using audio interfaces or something with USB connected to an Audio Out module.
I hope someone can use this info ;-)
Kind regards,
Robert.
