Aximmetry Eye rotation issue

It's running, with preview stream, but at least on my 10" ipad, the rotation of the app and the orientation of the tracking/desktop view won't work correctly together: If i have the ipad rotated to see the preview correctly on the ipad, then the orientation of the data on the desktop is rotated incorrectly 90 degrees and the desktop view is stretched/skewed. If i rotate the ipad, it corrects the desktop view, but then the ipad view is 90 degrees off.

I've tried various attempts at the orientation lock without success

also feature request: hot buttons that are programmable in the app, so we can trigger various functions such as capture screenshot, trigger recording, etc... I'm hoping for this to be a useful previz tool

so i think i figured out my answer... this app seems to be vertical only, which is a bit odd to not be able to use it horizontally. That, and for it to show up properly on both the app and desktop, i needed to disable external lens data in the input node. There's potential here, but for sure a lot of work

Hi,

As soon as the app rotates, both the video input and tracking data are modified accordingly. Sadly it seems that is not working at all for your iPad. You should try to disable auto rotation while it is not fixed.

Also, which generation is the iPad? This information could help us replicate the issue.

We have on our request list to control Aximmetry from the app.

Warmest regards,

Hi,

Thank you for the reply with the iPad version.

I was a bit misleading in my previous comment, the iPad is not yet officially supported.
Note that, only the Pro versions of iPad have its camera without limitations. These limitations otherwise make the iPad's camera almost impossible to use professionally, for live video productions.

Also, while hot buttons are not programmable in the app, you can program buttons in a web browser (chrome, firefox, etc...) on your smartphone or iPad. You can easily do so by using the Web Server feature that was introduced in Aximmetry 2023.3.0. You can read its documentation here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/preparation-of-the-production-environment-phase-i/setting-up-inputs-outputs-for-virtual-production/external-controllers/using-web-server-to-remote-control-aximmetry-from-a-web-browser/
Since the Web Server works with Control Boards, you will have to add these buttons to a Control Board.

Warmest regards,

Hi,

We're a bit uncertain about the specific issue you're encountering with the iPad.
Our attempts to reproduce the stretched/skewed view were unsuccessful, as long as the iPad's automatic rotation setting was enabled.

Please be aware that within Aximmetry Eye, you have the option to enable or disable automatic rotation using the following button:
Aximmetry Eye rotation issue

However, if automatic rotation has been disabled in the iPad's operating system settings, you'll need to enable it there first:

Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or require additional guidance.

Warmest regards,
