AJA Kona 5 cannot capture 2160p

Hello,

I am trying to run a 2160p input from AJA Kona 5 to the Keyer. I have used same card and setup configured for 1080P with no problem whatsoever. I am receiving an error saying “Video device mode not supported:2160p 29.97, 10bit AES” . I am only using one input on the AJA Kona and not using any output on the card. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ulf

Hi Ulf,

Could you try turning of 10bit and test again.

Bit depth is not making any difference. Here is what I found today all by chance. Confirmed UHD in to Kona. Checked using Kona software. I accidentally set the camera to 1080P and I get a working signal. Even though. The signal was 2160P. How can that be explained?

I just want to be able to input a UHD signal in a 1080P Aximmetry project. In that case I will get maximum resolution of the video signal, in a trackerless environment.

Anyone having an idea how to solve this problem?

Are you sure the camera itself is sending 2160p29.97 ?     Not a 2160p23.976 or other framerate?

I am also having trouble getting uhd with the kona5 to work.

Is there any progress? I'm not getting any 4k to work, neither input nor output.

Maybe you could share working config or anything.

Hi,

Could you also try without AES?  Leave on Embedded.

Also can I ask which AJA driver version do you use?

Version 15.5.5

We have tried every possible audio configuration and it is making no difference.

Hi,

We've just released 2021.2.1.
It uses AJA SDK v6.0.0.3.   Could you give it another try?

If it won't work please make sure the latest firmware is installed on the card.

Hi,

same problem yesterday.

you habe to use the 8k driver. It won‘t work with the 4k driver.
