Curved Ledwall Calibration Problem

Hello,

we are struggling to properly align two curved Ledwall. They are always a little off. The tutorial helps, but at the end the two curved halves don't connect each other properly.

For example, what exactly the "curve radius" parameter means? Do any of you have experience in align two halves, one for each machine, that form a single curved screen?

Thank you,

Fabio

Hi, I am also having the same issue on this.  I have spent a good amount of time trying to align a single curve wall, with no success.

Any chance of getting a mesh option for this? Obj with UVs?

Hi,

Since Aximmetry version 2023.2.0, you can easily slice up LED Walls, including curved ones, by using the Segments parameter.
Set Segments to something other than Single and options will appear to slice up the LED Wall per machine:

However, if your two curved wall in the real world is not aligned correctly then you won't be able to fix that in the Segments parameters.

Curve Radius stands for the actual radius of a circle.
Note that an LED Wall can occupy maximum half of the circumference of a full circle in Aximmetry. So at most, you will see a half circle.
And the first parameter (X) of Size actually stands for the occupied circumference:

You should first figure out the Curve Radius of your LED Wall and input that in Aximmetry. And then by changing the Size, you can easily display less than a half circle.
A full half circle's Size is actually the Curve Radius multiplied by Pi (Size = Curve Radius * π).

@JasonLashley, do you want to define the shape of the LED Wall with a mesh (model)? That is currently not supported.

Warmest regards,

Thank you for the thorough explanations (as always). I will run some tests and let you know the results. Thanks.

Ok, I did it. What I have to do next? Use a splitter node to go to both the ledwalls?

Hi,

Currently, the segmentation only works in a multi-machine setup. In multi-machine, you don't need a Splitter node as each machine will have its segment as an output for that LED Wall output pin:

If you don't plan to use multi-machine, then you will have to set up different LED Wall panels on the Control Board for the same physical LED Wall. This way you can do the same as with the segmentation pin but you will also need to rotate the LED Wall panels and give the correct size. Or you copy every setting from your LED Wall panel and set the Engine to local for a different segment in the second LED Wall panel.
Note, that we are working on making the segmentation available for one-machine use too and you can expect that to be released in future a version of Aximmetry.

Warmest regards,
