Interlace problem with 2023.2.1 and 2023.2.0 with BM Decklink output, SOLVED !

Hello,

I just make the upgrade of 3 aximmetry Broadcast DE from 2023.1.0 to 2023.2.1.

My project in 1980i50 plays, but the output is interlaced with 2 times the same frame on each field (so its 25fps).

I use Aximmetry for tv broadcasting, we need real interlaced output.

Do you have an idea of what happened ?

This is a sample of recorded output : https://gofile.me/5F6rW/1WvrtJ9n2https://gofile.me/5F6rW/1WvrtJ9n2 , you will see that the file is interlaced, but 2 fields are the same picture.

Thx in advance.

Cédric

I tried to change video output of aximmetry to 50p, 50i, 25p, the result is the same : 25p

Output is done with a decklink duo 2 in 108050i format. Decklink Driver is update.

Also tried to use 2023.2.0, its the same .. only 25p.

It works in interlaced with version 2023.1.0, but performance is really poor.

I think I need help ..

Hi Cédric,

Indeed your video is 50i, but the odd and even fields are the same.
Note that VLC has trouble playing back the video you uploaded, so the problem might be in how you recorded the video or in which format.

You should always set your output to Sync when using capture cards like Decklink:

You could capture the video with the Video Recorder module to see if the problem arises at rendering the scene or at outputting the video to your capture card. You can use the DNxHD / MOV format to capture interlaced video in Aximmetry:

Warmest regards,

Hi Eifert,

Thx for your quick reply,

Yes, odd and even fields are the same.
For the last file, i use a bm hyperdeck connected to the Aximmetry BM decklink output; the record is in Quicktime prores422.

At my surprise, internal Aximmetry recorder seems to work correctly with fields, but not the SDI output.
Here is the internal recorder DnXHD file : https://widestudios.fromsmash.com/Video-recorder-from-aximmetry
I had already tried with/without sync.

Perhaps you have a trick to get around the problem ?
I tried to make a direct output to the decklink, and it's the same (25p)

Thx in adavance,

Cédric

I think I found it !

You helped me to find that the problem was from the Decklink output, not from Aximmetry.

Changing in the decklink Setup, in When paused, from : "Display a single field on video output" to "Display a full frame on video output" seems to solve the problem.

I'm making some tests, and I'll confirm you if it's ok.

Perhaps you changed your communication to the deckink protocol from video stream to a sequence of single images ...

Thx.

Hi Cédric,

We are thrilled to inform you that the issue you reported has been addressed in our latest update, Aximmetry Version 2023.3.1, which is now available.
There is no longer a need to adjust settings in the Decklink Driver for the interlaced mode to function correctly with your capture card.

We extend our gratitude to you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Warmest regards,
