Hello,
We are currently investingating CPU usage issues after moving to the latest 2023.2 version of Aximmetry.
We noticed that recording were now taking a significant amount of CPU, which results in a drop of FPS and make some of our projects unusable.
Here is a test we ran :
- Setup
Hardware : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core
Between the two runs, both Aximmetry and Unreal were uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch.
We created a blank Aximmetry project and used the demo Unreal scene. The project only contains these, with a 3 cam virtual camera and Video recorders.
Results are the same with one or multuple recorders, and we toggle them on then off to compare the CPU and GPU usage.
- Aximmetry COMMUNITY SE 2023.1.0
Recording only uses the "Video encode" part of the GPU, which is expected
And it has no visible impact on the CPU
- Aximmetry STUDIO DE 2023.2.1
Recording still uses the GPU in a similar matter
But now results in a very important usage of the CPU
We could run similar tests on our PROFESSIONAL license, but we did not find how to rollback to a previous version.
Could you kindly provide support for this issue ?
Kind regards
Hi,
Thank you for reporting the issue in such detail. It is indeed an issue that comes only with the new version of Aximmetry (2023.2.0). It is going to be fixed in the next version.
We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.
You should be able to roll back the Professional version by uninstalling the newer version of Aximmetry, deleting its project libraries, and uninstalling Unreal Editor for Aximmetry. And then install the old version of Aximmetry.
Warmest regards,
