Hi,
When we change the Aspect Ratio for the lens profile in our tracking system (Stype), Aximmetry changes both horizontal and vertical FOV and alters the zoom factor in addition to the aspect ratio output from camera tracking.
However, per the Stype system, only the vertical FOV should be adjusted when changing the aspect ratio while the horizontal FOV should stay constant (as its sent by the protocol).
Any way to fix this with the node graph?
When zoom factor changes, both horizontal FOV and vertical FOV change. But changing the AR in the tracking system should not alter the horizontal FOV.
The camera tracking node's aspect output pin reflects the aspect ratio from the tracking system, but unfortunately the zoom factor also changes when changing the aspect ratio in the tracking system. The horizontal FOV should stay fixed though.
Hi Jim,
Zoom Factor in Aximmetry is a vertical parameter, therefore it naturally changes with the AR, so it's not an error.
If you check the horizontal FOV with FOV Calculator with the following config
and make sure that only the Aspect Ratio changes in the input, you'll find that Horizontal FOV remains constant.
The problem must lie somewhere else, and we have to investigate it further.
Could you please send us:
- a tracked recording (video file + xdata) where the Stype Aspect Ratio is set to the desired value (according to your camera properties)
- and the TrackedCam compound you use so that we can check the modifications you made.
