I'm very impressed with what I've been seeing in the preview videos so far. I was wondering if you could go into some detail about how lens focus/zoom encoding is handled with Aximmetry? In one of the demos on a virtual set, the camera focus was changed from foreground to background with an accurate looking focus transition...is this purely an in-engine effect, or are you reading a value from the lens/camera?
What you have seen in the video was a purely in-engine effect.
However, of course, we can read the focus encoder value from the appropriate systems and we can drive the engine effect based on this value.
Currently we can only receive zoom/focus data from the supported camera tracking protocols like Stype, Mo-sys, Free-D, Visca.
For e.g. if your camera supports Free-D or Visca, you can start with them right away. In the case of other unique lens systems we have to investigate what can be done.
