We have the joy of working with clients who almost never have their assets ready by production day. Thus we frequently produce the final products after the fact with the recorded video.
Typically these are very basic productions, static shots, just recording the isos on multi machines and being edited after the fact. no tracking minimal VC moves.
I haven't had a chance to use the playlist feature yet, as i'm waiting on new budgets to buy up our warranty, but that looks like the solution to make doing a "replay" recording of a production nice an neat, but i'm wondering if there is any way to do it at faster than real time, which i know isn't really the design of this software, but there's just so many functions a tricks in there, i figure to ask anyways.
The other route i've gone is to use aximmetry as the content creator and live day of reference, and then export plates of the virtual set and then do the comps the traditional way in an NLE, but even with a beefy machine, typically that would not be faster than real time, but with the benefit of only needing to render the fully cut sequence, not all isos in full.
You can easily export faster than real time (or as fast as your CPU/GPU allows) by setting a frame rate in the Recorder module instead of Real-time. Works great with pre-recorded video.
