CPU & GPU usage increase over time

 

Hi all,

We had an overload issue over time on several projects and different workstations (AMD/Intel, RTX 3090Ti/RTX 4080, RAM 128GB, W10/11).

I managed to find out two parameters in Unreal that can explain this kind of issue, so i wanted to share it with the community.

The first thing to change is to choose "Shadow Maps" instead of "Virtual Shadows Maps" in the Project Settings.

The second thing to check is about the type of object you use in the editor when you apply a virtual screen texture on it. It appears this object has to be a movable object even though the video will play in Aximmetry on a static object.
