“Use Billboard” issue cause Track camera to tilt in a weird way

Hi Aximmetry staff,

I am having an issue with after turning ON “Use billboard”

Prerequisite: I am still having trouble calibrate the lens with the green screen. But the “Use billboard” seems to make a different situation, not just moving off away from the the marker grids.

Below: When the track camera tilted upwards, the whole scene is being tilted in a relative Y axis centered with the billboard instead of the world scene transformation

The chair is the testing object that is captured in the camera (In red marquee: in the center)

Below: This is the actual scene without turning ON “use billboard”

The whole scene is normal. When the track camera tilted upwards, the whole scene is being tilted in a relative Y axis centered with the billboard instead of the world scene transformation

Does the “Use Billboard” option change the perspective/lens profile? Or is there any setting that I got it wrong so the track camera already capture from a different point?

Try to setup trackers to be uprotated or rotate with delta in tracker setup of desired input.

Hi,

The Use Billboard option doesn't change the perspective/lens profile. But the VR paths change it and they only work when the Use Billboards is turned on. So you might be experiencing that. You can read about VR paths in Tracked cameras in the Additional virtual camera movements paragraph here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-virtual-sets-with-tracked-cameras/#additional-virtual-camera-movements

The Tracked cameras' Use Billboard option can look strange for many reasons if not everything is set up correctly. You should read the Compositing modes paragraph here before turning on Use Billboards: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-virtual-sets-with-tracked-cameras/#compositing-modes

Also, You could add again the tracked camera compound to start with the default settings.

Warmest regards,
