Shadow/reflection glitch with path cut

Hi!,

I have a weird glitch inside all of my projects. I´ve turned on sequence on camera vr paths to make seamless cuts between paths, but when I cut from one to another, shadows and reflections glitch for few frames. It´s like LOD error or something. Anyone knows how to solve this issue? You could see this at 0:26 mark here - https://vimeo.com/817250354/a625c47c9b on shadows on panels.

Thanks!

David

Bumping thread. I´m using latest Aximmetry DE Broadcast version. Anyone?

This is a very old bug that should have been addressed a long time ago. Basically, to avoid glitches when making hard cuts between camera angles, TAA and motion blur is turned off for a frame or two. This is a  GOOD thing and isn’t really noticeable. The problem is that the same thing happens when you switch between ANY camera paths, even if one path starts where the other one ends or if you have Smooth Canera Path turned on. In these cases, it’s a really BAD thing, since the disabling TAA and motion blur isn’t necessary and the resulting glitch will be very distracting.

Aximmetry, when can we expect a fix for this old issue?

Yeah I guess we need to solve this fast, cause it´s pretty needed in our next project. Anyone from axi can help with it? Maybe Eifert@Aximmetry?

Hi,

You can actually easily turn off this behavior altogether in the Flow Editor.
On the first B1 Data collection connection, insert a Set Collection Logical module and set its Key to Camera Cut:
Note, this will apply to every camera, even if you did not do the same for B2 and B3 Data collections.

Warmest regards,

@Eifert: Thanks, that takes care of the issue for now. Still, it would be great if you could add some more logic to detect if there’s a sharp camera cut (which still needs the TAA motion blur disabling) or a soft positional transition (which doesn’t need it disabled).

Hi TwentyStudios,

You are right. And we added this to our request list and we will consider adding it in a future release.
Previously when this came up, I think we forgot to add it to our request list.

Warmest regards,

Thanks Eifert@Aximmetry! That solves the issues with glitching.

@Eifert: I think this should go into the “Bug” list and not the “request” list. It’s something that needs to be fixed ASAP.

@Eifert: Was this fixed in the latest update?

Hi TwentyStudios,

It hasn't changed in the latest update. But we didn't forget about it, it probably will be changed in the near future.

Warmest regards,
