Can Aximmetry read Braw files?

Hi,

I can´t import the Braw files recorded in our Ursa 12K to Aximmetry. When I try to drag and drop from windows file browser it doesn´t allow me to do that unlike with other video formats and when I use the playback module to open and change the placeholder video to the Braw one Aximmetry can´t see the file anywhere.

Can I be missing something that would let us use these Ursa Braw files? The Ursa 12K can´t even record anything else.

Thanks!

Emil

Hello Emil,

I think you have to convert the braw files to another file format, which would be supported by Aximmetry. You will find the list of supported file formats and codecs here:

https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/preparation-of-the-production-environment-phase-i/setting-up-inputs-outputs-for-virtual-production/supported-file-formats-encoders-and-decoders/

Best regards,

Jari

Aximmetry relies on FFMPEG to encode/decode, and from what I can tell there’s no stable/feature complete implementation of BRAW in it. Blackmagic has an SDK for implementing support, so maybe that’s something Aximmetry could take a look at as an alternative path to waiting for FFMPEG support?

Hi,

We added BRAW format to our request list and we will consider adding it in future releases.

Warmest regards,
