Control boards not saving layouts?

I can't tell if this is a bug as I'm certain I had this working in an older version of Aximmetry...

Essentially I'm trying to consolidate my control boards onto one page for studio operation. I'm using the add to control board option to move controls over from individual control boards to a 'master control board'. However when I save, close and re-open Aximmetry my changes are gone and the elements I moved across have no longer been moved.

This has been the case for the last few versions of Aximmetry and this is also across multiple computers that I've used.

Here is how I'm moving the controls across...

The master control board lives in the top most comp...

and this is what it looks like with a few elements from different control boards once moved across

However when I save and then re-open the project the only boards that stay in there are the ones that were added originally...

For reference, here is a much older version of a similar project file where I combined elements from many different control boards into one master control board for easy operation. This is open in the same version of Aximmetry...

Hi,

I couldn't reproduce it.
I can imagine 5 things that contributed to this. It is likely their combination in a specific order that causes it:

You could either share the compound (.xcomp) and maybe we can see from its file what went wrong. However, this is very unlikely, it would only really help if it happens again and again with that specific compound.
Or when it happens again be very mindful of if you did any of the things I listed.

Thanks for the help. Are each of these things to avoid in that case?

As I mentioned, this has been a consistant issue across multiple machines, but we have been using the same project file in various iterations for some time now. I'll try some of these and report back.

Here is a link to our project file and associated sub compounds, assets etc in the mean time. The file we're using is 'Robocomp MixedCam.xcomp'

Hi,

Thank you very much for sharing the compound. We found the issue based on that. And it had nothing to do with the things in my previous post. It was actually caused by the Lua scripts. We are working on a fix for it.

Until that, you can fix it by creating a new Control Board, and adding the things from the old Control Board to it. And then you can delete the old Control Board.

However, you reached the maximum 9 possible Control Boards. So the new 10th Control Board will be only visible in the Set Control Board Order... menu, while you have more than 9 Control Boards:

From my previous post, the only thing you should avoid is saving modified camera compounds with the Saving In-Place modifications option or Save Selected when saving the project. Cause when you update Aximmetry and it updates the libraries, it will overwrite any camera compounds you saved like that. And because of that, you will lose every modification you made in the camera compound.
Instead, you should leave it open or unlink it and save it elsewhere. And when there is an Aximmetry update, you will try to do again all the changes in the new updated Aximmetry camera compound, by looking at your old modified camera compound which you saved elsewhere.

Warmest regards,

Loud and clear.

That was actually the solution I found this morning!

I've also been fairly careful about not saving in place the camera compounds, although to be honest I update them with every new release anyway and make my custom modifications each time.

Hi,

We're excited to share that the latest version of Aximmetry, version 2023.2.0, has been released today!
It fixes the bug with LUA scripts messing up Control Boards. Also, you can now have more than 9 Control Boards in the Navigation menu.

To learn more about all the changes and improvements included in this version of Aximmetry, please visit the following link: https://aximmetry.com/learn/software-version-history/
