Tracking Drift?

having a weird problem today with my tracking system I'm using an antilatency floor tracking system and it's all set up and optimized and I get really good tracking data with no latency or lag.

I've run through the process of calibrating all of the lenses I plan to use and it's working perfectly inside the Basic camera calibrator. the markers I placed to the real-world C-Stands don't have any drift or offset. it looks great.

the problem happens when I come into Broadcast DE. when I go to monitor and click studio I now have really weird distortion going on at the edge of my frame. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the Lens distortion but even if I toggle that it still has tracking drift. and I made sure I'm using the correct lens calibration file.

basically, I have great results in basic camera calibrator but not in my aximmetry project.

any thoughts?

Hi,

Yes, the edge of the frame being cut is likely caused by the Lens Distortion. You can fix it without turning Lens Distortion off by increasing the Edge Expand, more on it here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-virtual-sets-with-tracked-cameras/#edge-expand

Your tracking drift might be caused by inaccurate tracking delay: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/setting-up-virtual-sets-with-tracked-cameras/#inputs
Or maybe the floor of your virtual scene is at a different place (height) than it is in your tracking system.

Warmest regards,

I have the same issue. I think that, when I made calibration with Basic Calibrater and named it correctly, than when I chose it in the "Calibration Profile" value. then why do I need to set tracking delay again? I don't understand it. Or why do I need to calibrate it if I need to calibrate everything again in Aximmetry Composer DE?

do I need to set both "Basic Calibrater" and "Camera Calibrater," or is one enough? And which one?

yes antilatency can't cakcukate where he is now but when this issue and I will look for issue I'm sure.

best regards

Hi,

The Tracking delay doesn't get saved into the calibration. You need to set the Tracking delay again in your camera compound inside your project.
The Tracking delay can change much more easily than the parameters in your calibration. If you don't have Genlock then the tracking delay may even change under your production. More on it here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/tutorials/for-studio-operators/syncing-and-genlock/

We replied about the difference between "Basic Calibrator" and "Camera Calibrator" here: https://my.aximmetry.com/post/2983-calibration
We hope it answered your question.

Warmest regards,
