Hi,

This path of the installer is too long.:

You should move the installer to a path maximum of 5 characters, like C:\Axi\

Warmest regards,

That is ridiculous. And new. Wasnt like that in an older version. Never had that since decades, actually

@ u-double-u: It has always been like this with the Unreal 5 installer and the fix is easy (and mentioned in the documentation), so why make a fuzz about it?

yeah right, why change something when one can google the workaround... Thats such an Adobe Corp. attitude.

But, of course I figured it out somehow.

@u-double-u: You don’t have to google anything, it’s in the basic documentation and the error message clearly tells you how to fix the issue as well. It really shouldn’t be hard for anyone to figure out.

I don’t represent any corporation, by the way. It’s just my personal opinion that it’s the responsibility of the user to read the documentation. But for the benefit of people like you who obviously don’t agree, I do think that it’s something Aximmetry should look into fixing.

well, your opinion.

When downloading and extracting an installer, I usually expect it to run.

Moving it around, renaming the folder it resides in often results in error messages. And yes, we can all dig into the documentation first. But here Bings AI told me an issue I did not know of, which is enabling long filepaths,. Which did not help here.

I knew you are not "Aximmetry". But I think they might consider fixing this. Whatever, cheers. And best regards

Again, a message that tells you where to move the installer pops up if you try to install it from an unsupported file path. Couldn’t get any easier than that, except of course solving the root cause of the issue (which I agree they should do).
