Genlock / Timecode Sync

Dear Aximmetry team,

I have problems lining up the video and trackingdata. Delays are drifi I use the EZtrack box with a VICON tracking system. A Genlock generator provides Genlock to EZtrack, the camera and the workstation. They are all connected via a good performing network switch, exactly like described in the documentation.

Is it necassary to switch the "Timecode Sync" option in the input panel to "On"?

If so - when I switch it to "On", the tracking freezes (not the video) and there is this error displayed in the log:

Adjusting any delays (camera, tracking, or in-out) does not help. Any idea how to proceed?

Hi Jan,

Genlock and timecode are two different things. It is very likely that your genlock generator can not do timecode.
If you are not using the timecode for some post-process production or for other things, then having only genlock is probably enough for your production.

thanks! Indeed, my genlock generator does not do timecode. So there is no tracking-improvement by using timecode, good to know :)
